Buying & Inventory

Do you keep Sierras and trucks in stock, or is it all special-order?

Yes, we stock them. New GMC trucks and SUVs, including Sierra 1500, Sierra HD, Canyon, Yukon, Yukon XL, Terrain, and Acadia, plus a rotating pre-owned inventory that changes weekly. The fastest way to see what is on the ground today is our live inventory, updated as units arrive and sell.

Is the price I see online the real price?

Yes, the online price is built to be real, not a teaser. Advertised pricing reflects current factory incentives and updates as offers change, which is why it lives on the listing instead of being hardcoded. If a number on a specific vehicle looks unclear, call and we will walk through it.

Do you carry Chevrolet as well?

Yes. The Feron family runs both GM franchises in Ruston. GMC lives on this site, and the Chevrolet lineup, Silverado through Tahoe, shops from our Chevrolet site. Same family, same building, same standards, and we can walk you across brands in one visit.

I am 30 to 45 minutes away on I-20. Is the drive to Ruston worth it?

For most of north Louisiana, yes. Buyers come from West Monroe, Monroe, Grambling, Choudrant, and across Lincoln Parish because the right truck at the right number beats a shorter drive. Start your deal online and we will have the vehicle and paperwork staged when you arrive.

Selling & Trade

Will you buy my car if I do not buy one from you?

Yes, no purchase necessary. We buy cars, trucks, and SUVs outright even when you are not buying anything from us. Start a Trade Estimate online for a no-obligation starting number, and if you like the figure, take a check and walk. That is the whole transaction.

How do you decide what my trade is worth?

An owner reviews it. Rob Feron has appraised vehicles since 1989, and that judgment plus live local demand shapes your number, not a national pricing algorithm. The online tool gives a real starting estimate, and we confirm the final figure in person. The full process is here.

Should I trade it in or sell it outright?

It depends on your goal. Trading rolls the value into your next vehicle and, in Louisiana, lowers the sales tax you owe on it. Selling outright puts cash in your hand with no purchase required. Both start with the same appraisal, and we show you both numbers.

What if I still owe money or I am upside down on my loan?

Bring your payoff details and we handle the loan directly. If you owe more than the vehicle is worth, we show you exactly how the negative equity affects the deal before you commit to anything. No surprises at signing, and no pretending the math is something it is not.

Financing

Can you help if my credit is challenged?

Yes. We work with a range of lenders and see every kind of credit picture, including thin files and past trouble. The best first step is getting pre-qualified online or calling the store. You will get a straight answer about where you stand before you shop.

Will checking my financing options hurt my credit score?

No, not at the first step. Pre-qualification uses a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your score, and shows you realistic options. A full application later, when you finalize terms, involves a hard inquiry. We always tell you which step you are on before anything runs.

I am a first-time buyer or a student at Tech or Grambling. Can you help?

Yes. First-time buyers and students at Louisiana Tech and Grambling State are welcome here, and we explain financing in plain language instead of jargon. Reach out about getting pre-qualified and we will map out what is realistic for your budget and your credit history.

Service & Parts

Do I have to service here to keep my factory warranty?

No. You are not required to service at the selling dealer to keep a factory warranty, and anyone who says otherwise is repeating a myth. The advantage here is factory-trained techs, GM Genuine Parts, and a dealer history that protects resale. The full case is here.

Who actually works on my truck?

Four GM World Class Technicians work in this shop. World Class is the highest certification General Motors awards, earned through eight Master Technician Certifications plus matching ASE credentials. Your Sierra is not a learning opportunity here, and the diagnosis is right the first time far more often.

Do you service diesels and Duramax trucks?

Yes. We service Duramax diesels and DEF systems, plus the heavy-duty work many quick-lubes and corner shops turn away. Our technicians see these trucks every week, and the parts counter stocks what diesel owners across Lincoln Parish and the I-20 corridor actually need.

Do you use genuine GM parts, and can you handle recalls?

Yes on both. The shop uses GM Genuine Parts and ACDelco parts and fluids, and as an authorized GM dealer we handle factory recalls and warranty repairs in-house. If your vehicle shows an open recall, call the service line and we will get it scheduled.

Family & Dealership

Who actually owns Courtesy?

Courtesy is family-owned and operated: Rob Feron and his sons. Rob is the dealer principal, Robert is the General Manager here at Courtesy GMC of Ruston, and Christopher runs the CDJR store. The name on the door is the family that runs the place, and the whole story is here.

How long have you been in Ruston?

Twenty years. The dealership has been family-owned in Ruston since 2006, and Rob Feron's own career in the car business goes back to 1989. The store's roots and the family's roots are the same thing here, which is exactly how we like it.

Why buy from you instead of a big-city dealer?

Because decisions get made here, not in another state. An owner is on site and accountable when something needs attention. You are buying from a family that lives in this community and sees you at the grocery store on Saturday and at church on Sunday, not a rotating regional cast.
